Ergo Original v. Ergo Performance

After doing much research on the subject, I decided there wasn't enough research on the subject and I would just need to do my own. I borrowed my good friend's Ergo Original. My baby is 4 months old, and he fell asleep in it (on back - hates to be on front facing in) the first time...and the second time we used it. The third time I put him on my front and breastfed while walking (no hands!) and he fell asleep that way. 

I have ordered the Ergo Performance from amazon (free returns) to compare for a few reasons:

 

1) Lighter: I tried one on at Happy Bambino (Madison, WI) when he was 1 month old and I remember it being significantly (1/3) lighter than the original.

2) Fashion: It feels and looks more sleek/form fitting and I just love the green color.

3) Comfort: mesh panel and lighter (I would even say softer) fabric

4) Versatile: expandable for taller/wider people:       My dad recently lost 90lbs. but is still a very tall man. With the Ergo Original, my son was uncomfortable because of the way he sat so low on my dad's back with the carrier on my dads hips (my dad's torso is very long). My son couldn't see as well and was almost in a slanted back position if you can imagine and therefore my dad can't use this carrier :(
